Colonel Chabert is the story of a French military hero of the Napoleonic Wars who's been living in asylum after being left for dead. Returning to Paris he discovers the changes in his absence, Napoleon overthrown, the French aristocracy in power and his wife now remarried. Colonel Chabert then hires a lawyer to recover his pension meanwhile trying to convince everyone who he is.
