A lightning-fast text viewer displays your documents and highlights matches without any need for external software such as Microsoft Office or Adobe Reader. View files by search results, folder, or date, simply by hovering over them with your mouse. Double click to open it in your favorite editor or save a PDF or Word Document as a Text file. The word search dictionary build starts with a drive scan. Choose the drives, folders and file types you want included. Once the drive scan completes, you can view documents in an explorer-like folder or date view. Enable mouse hovering for no-click touch screen feel. While the word dictionary is being built, partial word searches are available. DocuGrab/32 bit indexes up to 45 million words. The dictionary is created when you decide; never slowing down your system as some products do. When a document is created or modified, press Scan & Sync to merge your recent changes into an existing dictionary.
To make searching easy, DocuGrab uses intelli-sense which means you’ll never search for a non-existent word. Search results are displayed in a list with exact matches first. DocuGrab’s document viewer scrolls and highlights the match. Use Find Next to highlight the next match. Double click your mouse to edit the document with your choice of software. You can limit search scope by file name, type or date.
The Scan Control tab gives you control of the folders, file types, sizes and dates you want included in your dictionary. DocuGrab scans My Documents by default. To change that, expand the directory tree and place a check mark on the folders you want. Networked and removable drives are listed along with your local hard drives. Optionally, select the earliest file date and size. DocuGrab has an internal engine that decodes Portable Document Files (.PDF), Microsoft Word Documents (.Doc, .Docx) and Text (.txt) files. Use the file type list to define additional file extensions and open with softxware. DocuGrab /64 bit version is planned as well as a client-server version for multiple users.
