PHP search engine script can be used to add search functionality to a website. Search options: all these word ("+" sign), none of these words ("-" sign), exact phrase search (double quotes), category search (it is possible to break website into categories and search either entire website or a particular category), last modified (search for webpages that were recently updated). Search results can include webpage title, URL, a relevant excerpt with searched words emboldened, and the time of the last update. Output is controlled by templates. Auto-indexing: it is possible to configure cronjob task to update search engine database automatically (a few pages at a time). Other features: exclude stop-words from search, exclude site navigation from search, recognize various word forms (for example, if you enter the word "dive" in the search form, the script will also look for "dives", "dived", and "diving"), etc.
