Quick Start Tutorials - Supplying Data via HTML Param Tags

Method Outline - This method adds the graphing applet to a web page with the data supplied via HTML PARAM tags.

Implementation - This method involves the following 4 steps,

  1. Add the applet html code to your web page
  2. Set up the Configuration data
  3. Set up the Bar Graph data
  4. Upload the jar file to your web server

Step 1 - Add the applet html code to your web page
Copy & Past the following HTML into your Web Page,

Adjust the "width" and "height" element of the applet tag to specify the size (in pixels) of the desired graph display.

Step 2 - Set up the Configuration data.

Simply add the <PARAM> tags, contained in the paramtags.txt file
(click here), to your html between the <APPLET> and </APPLET> tag.

Adjust the values of these tags to create the bar graph style you require.

"Configuration Options and Parameters".

Step 3 - Set up the Bar Graph data

Simply add the <PARAM> tags, contained in the dataparamtags.txt file
(click here), to your html between the <APPLET> and </APPLET> tag.

Adjust the values to specify the data for the bar graph.

Step 4 - Upload the jar file to your web server.

The final step is to simply to place the Hbargraph.jar file in the same directory as your web page. A copy of the Hbargraph.jar file may be found in the ./Examples/ directory of this package.
